Your health and the health of your baby is the most important thing right now. We will help put in place a plan for your medical care, housing assistance, counseling assistance, and begin working with you to determine what other options are available to you as you begin to put together your adoption plan.

An Adoption Attorney will ensure that you know your rights and that they are protected at all times. Working with an attorney protects everyone from issues that might complicate the finalization of the adoption. An attorney will make sure that everyone understands their rights. Adoptive and birth parents must understand their rights and the process to ensure the best possible outcomes.

We will work with you, the birth father and any other friend or family member that you would like for us to. This is a complicated time with a lot of decisions that need to be made, assembling your team will be an important part of what we do to ensure that everything you want to happen does so smoothly.

You have the right to…

• be involved in the entire process and have your questions answered.
• know that the families presented to you have been screened and meet all requirements for adoption.
• pick and meet with the adopting family.
• have help with pregnancy-related expenses.
• spend time with your baby at the hospital.
• have an ongoing relationship with the adoptive family.
• be treated with dignity and respect.

An adoption plan is a roadmap that takes you from determining what your immediate needs are to viewing and choosing the family that is right for you and your baby, to deciding what your hospital visit will look like, and finally what your ongoing relationship will be with the family that you have chosen. Our job is to guide you through the process and make sure your needs have been met.

A responsible solution to an unplanned pregnancy is one that puts the child’s best interests first. Choosing adoption is a loving and unselfish decision you can make on behalf of your baby. You get to decide whether or not an open adoption is right for you and then possibly maintain contact throughout the child’s life. Even though this child will not be with you physically everyday, you will always remember and love the child you place.

Counseling will be available to you throughout the process, bur following the birth of your baby counseling can play an important part in getting your life back in order. There is no charge to work with an experienced counselor that is familiar with the needs of birth parents the feelings of grief and loss you may be feeling.
